What is 1inch?
1inch began as a DEX aggregator and now centres on intent-based swaps, where resolvers compete to fill your order and usually pay the gas. It covers 18+ chains and moves assets cross-chain without a separate bridge.
Supported networks include Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Gnosis, Avalanche, zkSync Era, Base, Linea, Unichain, Sonic, Solana and newer chains such as Monad and HyperEVM.
The swap flow includes MEV protection against front-running and sandwich attacks, plus wallet scanning, risk scoring and blocklists. 1inch also runs its own self-custodial wallet app.
1inch self-reports more than $815B in volume, 267M+ swaps and 28M+ wallets. The site states its products are available in the USA without a VPN, outside sanctioned regions.
Fees take some reading. There is no flat swap fee, but infrastructure fees and kept surplus exist, and who pays depends on the route.
Good fit for
- EVM traders swapping mid to large sizes
- Users who move funds between chains often
Not ideal for
- Memecoin snipers who need Telegram speed tools
- Anyone who wants a single flat fee number
1inch Atlas AI Score
8.2 / 10 Excellent
Confidence: High
1inch remains a top choice for EVM swaps, with gasless intents and solid MEV protection. Its fee story is layered, so compare the final received amount rather than a headline rate.
Intent swaps, cross-chain, limit orders, wallet and API suite.
Explains fee types but gives no simple rate for infrastructure fees.
Self-custodial with MEV protection and wallet screening.
Years live; self-reported $815B+ volume on 18+ chains.

1inch fees
In the main Swap interface, resolvers who fill your order usually pay the gas, thanks to intent-based execution. Swaps involving Solana or starting from native tokens still charge gas to the user, and very small swaps may be routed through the classic aggregator.
1inch says infrastructure fees may be charged by the API layer run by 1inch Business. In the Swap interface and for limit orders the filler covers these; on aggregator-routed swaps you cover them. If execution beats the quote, the surplus is kept at the API-provider level.

- Strong MEV protection
- Very wide chain coverage and long track record

Cons
